We welcome Anna Theander and Kristian Holmqvist from Volvo Group who will present Volvo Group Truck Technology study with Swedish Road Administration ”Heavy Goods Vehicle & Passenger Cars in Swedish accidents”
The Swedish Transport Administration (STA) has been collecting in-depth data of all fatal crashes in Sweden since 1997. This database was used to analyze all crashes in Sweden from 2015 to 2020 between a Heavy Goods Vehicle and a passenger car, where at least one occupant of the passenger car was fatally injured. In total, 133 crashes were included in the study. For each crash, information which was not available from the parametrized content, was extracted, e.g. vehicle damage extent, estimation of possible detection distance to opponent vehicle, etc. The intention was to gather information, which can help to further enhance the understanding of circumstances and outcome, which may be useful for both active and passive safety systems design
Practical Information
SAFER Thursday lunch seminars are held both at the SAFER office, Lindholmspiren 3A (second floor), and online via Microsoft Teams.
- In-person attendance: Lunch will be provided at the SAFER office, Lindholmen Science Park, starting at 11:30 AM. The seminar will then be held in a hybrid format from 12:00 to 12:45 PM. Registration is required for lunch. Please register for lunch by 12:00 PM on the Tuesday before the seminar.
- Online attendance: No registration is needed. Simply join via the Microsoft Teams link sent to all SAFER partners ahead of the event. The seminar is held in a hybrid format from 12:00 to 12:45 PM.
