Full title: Continuous Deployment methodologies and Safety Case generation

As the primary objective of this project is to lay the foundation for a larger research initiative (VINNOVA) focusing on continuous deployment approaches for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) within the automotive domain we will focus both on preparing a full-scale research proposal (VINNOVA) for future funding and carrying out initial research activities to build a robust knowledge base and identify key challenges and opportunities.  But also to prepare needs to be able to execute a PoC, Proof of Concept for a VCC feature as a parallel project, hereafter called the PoC.

During the project, we will undertake a structured state-of-the-art study on continuous deployment strategies, specifically in safety-critical automotive applications like ADAS. This will include a comprehensive literature review covering existing methodologies, standards (e.g., ISO 26262 (FUSA) and  ISO 21448 (SOTIF)), and technological solutions currently being explored in both academia and industry. Additionally, we will extract and structure knowledge from previous research projects and gather insights from the industrial ecosystem, including OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and technology providers. We will carry out interviews with stakeholders and experienced people within the field. Extract and structure the knowledge base provided from already executed research projects and from the industrial ecosystem.

To support the knowledge collection and ensure relevance, we will also organize at least one workshop with invited-only key academic and industrial stakeholders. The workshop will serve both to “validate” our approach and findings as well as to identify further industrial needs, risks and gaps that a future large-scale project must address. Dissemination activities, such as presenting preliminary findings and the ideas behind the project, to the participating partners. Then we hope to publish a short “white paper” to ensure visibility and engagement. This can serve as an input to both the POC and the research project.
