Vision Zero International Course 2025

Sep, 15 2025

This week we are proudly co-hosting the seventh edition of the Vision Zero International Course together with the Swedish Transport Administration at Lindholmen Science Park in Gothenburg.

We are welcoming almost 30 participants from across the globe who have come to learn from Sweden’s more than 25 years of experience with Vision Zero and the work towards a safe road transport system.

The course is jointly organised by the Swedish Transport Administration and SAFER – Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre at Chalmers – in close collaboration with a wide range of Swedish partners from industry, research, and society. Together we are sharing our knowledge with the world and strengthening international road safety efforts.

Some highlights of the week:

  • In-depth sessions on road safety paradigms and Vision Zero as a policy innovation
  • Study visit to VTI and discussions on the role of research in road safety work
  • Strategic programmes at Volvo and future traffic safety solutions
  • Urban and rural study visits to understand how safe systems can be designed for humans
  • Focus on Vision Zero and sustainable development – linking road safety to the UN Global Goals
  • Study visit at Volvo Trucks and a final session on how Vision Zero has been spread internationally

Through lectures, study visits and knowledge exchange, the course provides unique insights into how Vision Zero can be applied in different contexts worldwide – and creates a strong platform for continued action in the participants’ home countries.

The Vision Zero International Course takes place 15–19 September 2025 at Lindholmen Science Park, Gothenburg.
