New European automotive partnership in the making – SAFER partners engaged in defining the next EU agenda
As part of the preparations for the next EU Framework Program, starting 2028, a joint proposal for an Automotive Partnership has been presented to the European Commission’s DG RTD.
The initiative, developed by ERTRAC together with 2Zero, CCAM and EARPA, and coordinated with EUCAR and CLEPA, aims to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness by boosting and accelerating collaborative Research & Innovation in the automotive sector. Building on the successes of the 2Zero, CCAM, and Batt4EU partnerships, it will bring together relevant research and innovation topics to address key challenges in safety, sustainability, digitalisation and innovation. Simplification, agility, and stronger use of Europe’s existing ecosystems are central principles for the partnership.
We are proud to share that SAFER’s director Magnus Granström has been selected as a member of the drafting team shaping the content of this partnership, together with colleagues from AB Volvo and VTI.
