Software defined vehicles

Date
15 October 2026 11:30-12:45
Place
SAFER, Lindholmen Innovation District, Kuggen, Lindholmsplatsen 1 or online

Modern vehicles increasingly rely on complex software to deliver functionality, connectivity, automation, and safety. In this seminar, Professor Miroslaw Staron from the University of Gothenburg will share insights from his research on software engineering, software quality, and data-driven methods for developing reliable systems.

Drawing on extensive experience from collaborations with industry, including the automotive and telecommunications sectors, the seminar will explore how software metrics, predictive models, and empirical engineering methods can support the development of robust and dependable software. Particular attention will be given to the challenges of managing complexity in large-scale software systems and ensuring quality throughout the development process.

As software continues to play a critical role in vehicle safety and automation, the seminar will provide perspectives on how engineering methods and data can be used to improve system reliability and support the development of safer mobility solutions.
