Drivers with NPF: A research initiative on licensing and road safety
Neuropsychiatric conditions such as ADHD and autism can influence how individuals interact with the road transport system, raising important questions related to driver licensing, mobility, and traffic safety. In this seminar, Helena Selander from VTI will present a research initiative focusing on drivers with neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF) and their experiences in relation to licensing and road safety.
The seminar will provide insights into current knowledge, research challenges, and methodological approaches for studying driving and mobility among individuals with NPF. It will also explore how licensing systems, support measures, and road safety policies can be developed to balance accessibility, independence, and safety.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of an important and often underexplored area of traffic safety research, with relevance for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and licensing authorities.
