Four new partners join SAFER – bringing new perspectives to road safety

Oct, 26 2026

SAFER is pleased to welcome four new partners to the collaboration platform: Adamai, NTF Jönköpings län, Prident and Valma Safety. The new partners bring new perspectives and expertise ranging from functional safety and heavy vehicles to behaviour, education and visibility in traffic.

Complex road safety challenges require knowledge from many different perspectives. This is why the diversity of the SAFER partnership is so important; bringing together research, industry, public and societal actors to build knowledge and turn it into real-world impact.

The four new organisations will contribute in different ways:

  • Adamai works with safety in an increasingly software-defined vehicle environment. The company brings expertise in functional safety, safety cases and how safety processes can evolve as vehicle software is updated more frequently. Adamai also aims to contribute to seminars, workshops and joint activities within its field.

  • NTF Jönköpings län adds a strong practitioner perspective. The organisation works closely with children and young people, older road users and professional drivers, and can contribute field data, test environments, access to target groups and experience of how road safety measures work in practice. A key ambition is to strengthen the link between practical experience and research.

  • Prident contributes specialist knowledge on personal reflectors, reflective materials and visibility in traffic. The company wants to strengthen knowledge around the role of reflectors in road safety, contribute to work on quality and standards, and increase awareness of personal visibility. Prident can also contribute product expertise, testing and input to studies on how visibility measures can help prevent injuries and fatalities.

  • Valma Safety focuses on safety related to heavy vehicles and brings experience from both real-world testing and safety certification. Through the projects Backa Säkert and Safira Score, Valma aims to contribute test data and scenarios related to reversing heavy vehicles and pedestrian detection, as well as knowledge on how safety performance can be assessed and maintained throughout a vehicle’s operational life.

Different perspectives build stronger knowledge
The four new partners represent very different parts of the road safety system; from technology and vehicles to behaviour, practical implementation and communication with road users.

Bringing these perspectives together helps us ask better research questions, understand road safety challenges from more angles and accelerate the journey from knowledge to real-world safety impact.

A warm welcome to Adamai, NTF Jönköpings län, Prident and Valma Safety; we look forward to developing new knowledge together!
