SAFER advisory role to iSTREC project (Malaysia)

A joint motorcycle-truck research program “Innovative Solutions To Reduce Crashes Between Trucks And Motorcycles (iSTREC)” is being developed by the stake holders: Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, Swedish Trade Council, Volvo Trucks Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia and SAFER (Sweden). The research will be carried out in Malaysia. SAFER will contribute with a Scientific Advisory Council. The aim of the activities includes to give scientific advisory support to the project team in Malaysia throughout the research project period. A secondary aim is to deepen cooperation between the road safety research organisations in Malaysia and SAFER. Activities for the Scientific Advisory Council will include reviewing and commenting project plans of the project team in Malaysia, discussing possible improvements in methods, study design and/or data analyses. Cooperation between the road safety research organisations in Malaysia and SAFER will be deepened and it will lead to an exchange of knowledge and innovative tools to improve the traffic safety situation in both countries.
