AstaZero Researchers Day Emerging Trends in Active Safety for Road Vehicles
AstaZero Researchers Day Emerging Trends in Active Safety for Road Vehicles
The symposium "AstaZero Researchers Day" will be held on May 10, 2016 on the proving ground AstaZero in Sweden (http://www.astazero.com). The symposium serves as a forum for researchers, experts, and practitioners to explore and discuss recent research results, challenges, and opportunities in the area of intelligent and safe vehicular systems.
Description
Nowadays, modern vehicles are powered by complex functions for comfort, safety, and even semi-autonomous driving. These functions range from lane-keeping assistants, over emergency braking guards, to piloted driving for traffic jam situations. In the future, more and more traffic situations will be even covered by cooperative and semi-autonomous functions.
The increasing road traffic will create problems in terms of congestion, road safety and stress on the environment. Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) offer solutions to this by communication-based functionality to reduce congestion, improve traffic safety and to minimize impact on the environment. All road users will benefit from ITS applications.
Call for presentations
For this symposium, we are inviting presentations from the various disciplines that are involved to design, realize, and test today’s and tomorrow’s vehicle functions. We are especially interested in presentations related to connected transport, but the following topics can also be addressed:
• Automated driving
• Driver models
• Connected mobility
• Test scenarios
• Test design and test methods
• Design of test targets and future test equipment
• Novel test system infrastructure
• Test data analysis
• Simulation for testing, validation, verification of complex vehicle functions
• Methods for combining and aligning simulations and real test-runs
• Experience reports and field studies
• Certification and functional safety
• Tool support and simulation environments
Submission guidelines
We are looking for contributions to this symposium in the form of talks, posters and demonstrations. To contribute to this event, please submit an abstract (maximum 1 page) about the work that you would like to present to submissions at astazero dot com not later than April 4, 2016. The abstract needs to contain the following information:
- Title
- Authors and affiliations
- Summary (at least 0.5 page)
- Keywords
All submissions will be evaluated on the basis of quality and relevance. Accepted submissions will be invited to present either as a talk or poster at the symposium.
The accepted contributions for the symposium (abstract including presentation or poster) will be published after the symposium in a technical report.
