Analysis of Accidents and Dangerous Incidents in Transport: Method Development and Opportunities for Learning

The purpose of the project is to share knowledge in the research area of in-depth investigations of vehicle accidents. Participants from two organizations are involved; Institute of Transport Economics (TØI), Norway, and the accident research team at Chalmers. For TØI, the project is expected to provide knowledge of new accident causes and risk factors, as well as improvements of data collection, analysis and reporting of accidents. At Chalmers, in-depth investigations of vehicle accident have been conducted since 2002 in close collaboration with the national vehicle industry and road authorities.
