Project

e-BikeWay

Period
15 November 2013–28 February 2015
Project manager
Marco Dozza

The aim of e-BikeWay is to expand the e-BikeSAFE data set and to support further analysis comparing conventional and electrified bicycle using naturalistic data. Data analysis will focus on safety-critical events and interaction between cyclists and other road users. By determining which factors contribute to decrease safety for conventional bicycle in comparison with electrified bicycle, this project will inform the design of regulations, infrastructure, and intelligent systems. This is particularly important and timely as e-cycling community is growing rapidly. Analysis of interaction with other road users will identify possible issues especially at intersections where most of the cycling fatalities happen.
