Full title: Intelligent, interactive and connected next generation real time driver assistance system

With respect to the project outcomes, we design smart ADAS with gender equality in mind to improve safety for all. User needs are accumulating requirements from an equal population of male and female respondents. Similarly, the user evaluation incorporates drivers from both genders. This evaluation will influence the prospected HMI functions. The user study is expected also to investigate the gender differences in the acceptance and effectiveness of driver support systems. We will determine how to deal with these differences and investigate how they affect the safety levels of the driver support systems. Since our Vinnova-funded pre-study has revealed clear gender differences related to driving safety in terms of engaging with HMI, we are well-prepared to improve the acceptance and effectiveness levels through the provided driving support systems in a gender-adjusted way.
