Project

Pre-study for ReVeRe (Research Vehicle Resource)

Period
15 February-1 October 2014
Project manager
Robert Laxing

The existence of “ReVeRe” is considered to be a critical enabler for more high-risk “curiosity driven research”, not least at ASTAZero. In order to allow this type of research (“nyfikenhetsforskning”) to qualify for mature financing or research programmes it is often necessary to carry out basic research before developing it into cutting-edge research.  It would thus facilitate spontaneous automotive research and education. This project request is for a pre-study of a first step of ReVeRe, which would clarify details (cost, timing, specified content) for a vehicle lab with 1-2 passenger test vehicles, 1-2 heavy duty vehicles, technicians, premises, workshop equipment, and vehicle instrumentation. It is to be determined whether Chalmers driving simulator(s) and miniature vehicles lab should be included. The lab is intended to be organised at Chalmers level; not at one department.
