Scenario-Based Testing of Pre-Crash Systems
The car industry is striving hard to find technical solutions to be able to offer crash mitigation systems in future car products. Those solutions must fulfill a variety of legal, technical and economical requirements before introduction on a mass market. However, though most OEMs and system suppliers are developing “pre-crash”-detection systems, limited development of test methods and equipment is ongoing and discussed between interested parties. This project aims to start this development and to share its results with interested parties to find ways to verify and test performances of detection systems independent of technology used. The current focus of the project is to develop test scenarios for intersection crashes involving passenger cars.
