This project aims at developing the field operational test (FOT) naturalistic driving study (NDS) analysis through international collaboration in two separate sub-projects (SeMiFOT2 and DREAMi). SeMiFOT2 will provide additional analysis and methods development, over and above the original SeMiFOT Phase 1 project. The work will focus on: Development of quantitative definitions of crash-relevant event severity; Exploration of new statistical and analytical approaches for the analysis of Crash-Relevant Events; Extraction of Crash-Relevant Events; Analysis of the impact of visual behavior on driving performance and crash-relevant events; and Expansion of SeMiFOT simulation techniques.
