Full title: Smart Technology for Innovative Data Collection and Analysis for Pedestrian and Bicycle Paths

STIG develops an AI method for efficient data collection and analysis of pedestrian/bicycle paths, creating a cost-effective tool for municipalities to improve maintenance and safety. By adapting road technology, validating against standards, and testing collection methods, the project will deliver a prototype for systematic condition assessment. The validated system (TRL 5-6) enables efficient maintenance planning and increased safety through rapid problem identification. This methodology creates conditions for accessible paths promoting sustainable travel while providing municipalities with a cost-effective tool supporting evidence-based infrastructure investments.
