Strategies and Methods for Increased Traffic Flow at Traffic Accident Sites
Period
2 February–15 June 2012
Project manager
Jonas Landgren
Traffic accidents in urban areas are not only a problem for the directly involved but also a major problem for private, commercial and public transports that become stuck in traffic jams caused by the accident and the professional response work by police, fire and rescue services and paramedics. This pre-study serves two purposes: the exploration of possibilities to increase the traffic-flow at traffic-accident sites without endangering response personnel or people involved by the accident; and the establishment of a network of professional response organizations as a resource for the future post-crash research.
