VISAS - Volvo Infotainment Support Autoliv Safety

Period
9 March 2006-27 April 2012
Project manager
Johan Davidsson

The VISAS project was a collaboration between Volvo Cars, Autoliv and Chalmers University of Technology. The main objective was to study and develop infotainment and safety functions based on the communication between car and infrastructure. The project started in the beginning of 2006 and lasted until August 2008. One of the work-packages which deals with active safety for pedestrians and bicyclists in urban intersections is still going on in the form of a Ph.D. project at Chalmers University of Technology. The VISAS project was mainly funded by VINNOVA (The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems) through the V-ICT program.
