Nudging - can the traffic environment be safer with unconscious positive behavioral changes?

Feb, 28 2020

Nudging is about influencing people's behavior by making it easier to do right - a little push in the right direction. The theory behind nudging was rewarded with the Nobel Prize 2017 and now SAFER researchers are conducting a project, MeBeSafe, to investigate how to design a safer traffic environment inspired by the Nobel Prize theory. SAFER and NTF Väst recently invited to an evening seminar to share the latest research findings, answer questions and discuss.

You can find the presentation material below.

Nudging - this is how it works! Victor Bergh Alvergren, researcher at Chalmers presented the nudging theory and how it can influence road users to safer behavior - unconscious!

MeBeSafe - about behavior change, trials and insights Cedrik Sjöblom, researcher at Chalmers presented the ongoing project at SAFER that will contribute to safer traffic environments.

How can the traffic environment in the city be improved with behavioral changes? Malin Månsson, cycling strategist at the City of Gothenburg, talked about how the city can benefit from the nudging principle and influence road users to safer behavior.
