First International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention (DDI2009)
FACTS
We are delighted to report that the First International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention (DDI2009) in Gothenburg was, based on the feedback we received from participants, a great success!
During the two days on September 28-29 2009, we had over 150 participants in total, with 45% of the visitors coming from outside of Sweden. The delegates came from nearly 20 countries; Australia, USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, South Africa, Spain...
HIGHLIGHTS
- Nearly 60 Oral Presentations were given, and the congenial venue facilitated lots of informal discussion during the conference
- Our three Keynote Speakers were informative, provocative, entertaining and well received
- The conference was widely covered in the media - newspapers, radio and television
- The Conference Dinner at the Universeum Science Center offered the guests an unforgettable evening amongst sharks, science and the safety exhibition
Here’s what they said:
“It was truly one of the best meetings I have attended in the past decade, focused and yet sufficiently broad to really get a grasp on the issue”
“The papers presented were so forward thinking that they no doubt will inspire new thinking and technological insights in the enhancement of driver safety…”
THANKS
The extremely positive feedback and the positive outcomes could only have been achieved with the great support of many people. At this point, we would like to thank the Scientific Committee, Keynote Speakers, presenters, the exhibitors, and last but not least everyone who attended the Conference!
CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS AND PROCEEDINGS
All the PowerPoint presentations and Peer-Reviewed Papers are up-loaded onto the conference website. We are sorry for the delay in the review process.
Some of the papers, suitably expanded, appeared in a book that has been published in 2010 by Ashgate, in the UK.
