Dear SAFER partners and friends,

Welcome back to SAFER for spring 2026. We are looking forward to a new term with a clear focus on co-creation – generating road safety knowledge together and making sure it is shared and used for real impact.

This spring, our priority in the SAFER operational team will be to take good care of all partners’ research needs and ensure professional facilitation, so that we truly create the knowledge that is needed. Make sure you feed in your needs here. Alongside this, our move to Kuggen will be a key focus for us.

We are also welcoming new partners onboard, and we are genuinely looking forward to co-creating with new organisations – and more are very welcome. If you are curious to learn more, please get in touch. We are hosting an informal, no-commitment information meeting on February 29.

We also look forward to our study visit to Lund March 12 – everyone is welcome to join and learn more about our partners there, and it will be a fantastic day for networking and project creation.

There are also a few important dates to keep in mind. On March 24, we will celebrate SAFER’s 20th anniversary – a festive day with reflections on what we have built together over the years. As always, partners’ projects are the foundation of our knowledge building, and our working groups are the engine for idea generation and new collaborations. A lot is planned in the groups this spring, so please keep an eye on our agenda to see what’s coming up.

Finally, a reminder that the Call for Abstracts for DDI2026 closes on 1 March. Don’t miss the opportunity to share your expertise on distraction with an international audience at the DDI conference on October 20-22.
