The new SAFER associated project SEVVOS will contribute to better test methodologies for future vehicle safety systems

A major challenge in the development of future traffic systems and vehicle safety technologies is to be able to carry out tests in a real environment, which gives reliable results in all possible weather conditions and that also is repeatable. This problem is now being addressed by researchers by developing a method for simulating water spray, emulating water spray in rigs, and verifying that the results obtained correlate with real data.

SMILE III – Safety analysis and verification/validation of ML based systems, a new project in SAFER’s portfolio

The purpose of SMILE III is to further develop and demonstrate the safety-cage concept developed in previous projects. The goal is to be able to safely use ML-based functions in a safe way in safety-critical vehicle systems. Another goal is also to use the safety-cage concept to understand how future safety standards affect the development and management of ML-based systems.
